The Tennessee Titans have seen some great players over the years. These players have helped them win countless games and build up a large fan base. These are some of the best players in the history of the Titans and are still well respected today.
Steve McNair , Quarterback
McNair played for the Titans from 1996 all the way to 2005. He helped the Titans make it to the playoffs four times. He also shared the MVP award with Peyton Manning. McNair was invited to three Pro Bowls. During his time with the Titans he was able to throw 156 touchdowns and rushed for another 36 touchdowns. Unfortunately McNair was killed during a murder-suicide in 2009.
Bruce Matthews, Center
Matthews played with the Titans from 1983 to 2001. He is the only Titan player to be in the football Hall of Fame. He appeared in 14 pro Bowl games and was selected as an All Pro ten different times. He played in the league for a total of 19 years which is a very long career for a football player. He is currently with the team as an offensive line coach and his son is considered to be a top prospect for the NFL.
Kevin Bulluck, Linebacker
Bullock was with the team from 2000 to 2009. He was great at tackling and was a leader on the field that his teammates can count on. He has a total of 770 tackles and forced 15 fumbles of the football. He had 69 defensive passes as well as 19 interceptions. From the year 2002 he did not miss one game due to injury or illness. He was reliable and a consistent player that was able to be counted on.
Eddie George , Running Back
George was a member of the Titans from 1996 to 2003. He was a Heisman Trophy winner and was able to make it to the Pro Bowl four times. He was reliable and was able to take a hit and get back up. He had 2,733 total carries , rushed for 10,009 yards, scored 74 touchdowns, and has 2,144 yards receiving with the Titans. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and is still a well respected player today.
Jevon Kearse, Defensive End
Kearse played with the Titans from 1999 to 2003. He was so intense when he played the game he earned the nickname The Freak. According to many he was the best pass rusher to play for the Titans. During his first year with this team he had 14 sacks and forced eight players to fumble the football. Since that time he was doubled teamed on just about every play. He had a total of 74 quarterback sacks, 22 defensive passes, a total of 28 forced fumbles, and 245 tackles. He made it to the Pro Bowl three different times. He spent the last two seasons of his football career with the Titans and then he was able to retire.
